  John offers a wealth of experience 044b_smgained over decades of contact with both young people and adults in education.

He has a Master of Education degree and Advanced Diploma in Education from Dundee University and Teaching Qualification in Further Education from Strathclyde University. During his many years as Lecturer/ Head of Department /Manager John added to his teaching qualifications by passing the COSCA Modules in Counselling Skills in order to better  communicate with a broader range of students. 

John also worked with long term unemployed in Dundee, Perth, Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, utilising his professional qualifications and skills in Horticulture for horticultural therapy purposes.

His commitment to others extended to forming the  Scottish Charity “Trellis” with like minded professionals. Trellis promotes Health and Wellbeing through Horticultural Therapy. John has been involved in Horticultural Therapy for over twenty five years.

Charity work has been a large part of his life and John has counselled with Couple Counselling Tayside, formally Relate Tayside, for ten years. Within this work John has acquired Diplomas in Couple Counselling, validated by Edinburgh University, and the Young Persons Counselling Diploma. John also has the Advanced Certificate in Couple Counselling, validated by Edinburgh University, as well as the Counselling and Health Certificate, credit rated by Napier University.

John has also worked as Tutor for Diploma students undertaking the Couple Counselling Diploma for Relationships Scotland.

Committed to Continuing Personal Development John has trained with Relate in telephone counselling. John is also  a qualified Psychosexual Therapist with a post graduate Diploma in this subject issued by Hull University.
